What these records establish
The birth extract expressly states that William was born in the parish of St George, Hanover Square, and names his parents John and Ann. The marriage extract states that both William and Elizabeth were of the parish in March 1805. These are substantial documentary anchors for the Hawes family's Westminster origins. They do not, by themselves, identify the street where either person lived or establish the precise date of the subsequent move to Adelphi Terrace.
